Blog 11: Introduction
Since the stone age era, there weren't any advanced technologies and everything was basic as it was created. Being vulnerable in the wilderness, Early humans came together and form a tribe with the mindset of surviving together. This helps them to avoid being killed by a predator. As time goes by, they use objects around them to defend themselves from predators or another invading tribe intending to steal their resources. As the tribes grow stronger and form nations, the conflict between nations grow and result in wars. In order to be effective in putting down an enemy fast, they developed more efficient weapons such as metal swords and a longbow to reduce the effort and increase the death rate in war. With more knowledge available and the effective use of resources, the death rate in wars has increased from hundreds to millions when guns are invented. It allows a person to cause serious damage and put down a target in a matter of seconds. Many manufacturers saw the power of bullets and developed a more effective gun which allows a person to fire the bullets rapidly in seconds; this type of gun is called an automatic. There are many positive feedbacks that praised the technologies and there is also the fear of human evilness. The argument of gun policy has been a hot debate in the last decade as many mass shootings have occurred. There has been an increasing advocating and protests for gun control. However, regardless of the strictness of the gun control policy, the problem is in an individual's motive who controls the gun that decides to pull the trigger, but not the gun itself because it's a tool.
